Who We Are

Jackie Riffice and Gina Reis are Master Gardeners who work in the Lurie Garden in Chicago, Lake Katherine in Palos Heights and park district areas in and around Flossmoor.

 

Jackie Riffice is a business executive with more than 25 years of corporate experience. She is a Master Gardener who loves a good dirt manicure. She taught school for a number of years and delights in helping kids and communities reconnect with Mother Earth.

 

Gina Reis traded a 35-year business career to become a Master gardener and pursue her passion for gardening. She combines her knowledge of plants and nature to create unique garden spaces that are inviting to migratory birds and other wildlife.

    

 

What We Do

Prairie Godmothers focuses on finding ways to protect our planet, and we are a leading resource for residential green-gardening solutions.

Our focus is on small garden areas. We create garden murals that are adapted to the local landscape. We offer options for labor (doing some of it or all of it -- it's your choice). We provide expert information and advice on green gardening, offering small changes that yield big results.

Thus, we coach our clients on how to create and care for their landscape and continue to nurture the earth.

Our gardens are designed to conserve water, recycle and reuse precious resources and remain in balance with their surroundings. We use sustainable practices that protect our environment, offer refuge for birds and butterflies and produce the desired harvest.
